High Meadow Camping

High Meadow camping is all about expansive views and lots of space. There are two mown areas where you can pitch: the High Meadow (20 pitches with plenty room to spare) and the The Drum (10 pitches). There are no restrictions on tent size (within reason!). The edge of the High Meadow is reachable by vehicle at arrival and departure. In between times we hope you enjoy the relatively car-free environment and the 2 minute walk downhill to the car park and main facilities. There is no car-parking at the high Meadow itself. Don't worry if you decided to bring the kitchen sink - we provide wheel-barrows to help move your kit. As with all the Croft's camping areas you are welcome to have a campfire in one of the portable firebowls provided. You can bring your own firewood, buy logs here (£7 for a big sack), or go foraging up in the High Wood for your own - a 20 minute walk up the hill. Please note that its very important NOT to gather firewood from Fee's wood which is just above the High Meadow. Dead wood is a really important part of the ecology of these woodlands.

Book online or give us a call on 01764 670140. To keep the tents fairly low density the full sign does go up most weekends in season so do book as far in advance as you can. Having said that, we'll always find a spot for you if you've just cycled 50 miles to get here! 2 night minimum booking if you include a Saturday night - unless you are booking less than 7 days in advance.
