Relaxed Camping

Eco Camping

Welcome to our wonderful camping. We have four areas open all year round, and a couple of extra ones in the summer for you to choose from.  All pitches have either a fire pit or bowl. Check our out map for location help.

Birch Woods: Nearest thing to wild camping that isn't wild camping!  Individual pitches amongst the trees, great for smaller tents 3.5m x 3.5m max. 2 - 5 minute walk from the facilities and car park.

Low Meadow: Great for families, close to the main facilites, car park (car's not allowed in the meadow) and bike skills park.  Can accommodate 6 tents.

High Meadow: All about the views and space. Car free environment, though you can drive up to the drop off zone at the edge of the meadow (wheelbarrows available).  Pitches are marked out 9m circles.  The meadow has eco toilets, wash up area (cold hill water) and a roundhouse, roughly a 3 - 5 minute walk down to the main facilites & drinking water.

The Drum: Slightly higher up than the High Meadow, good 3 - 5 minute walk up hill from the drop off zone (wheelbarrows available). Amazing views. Shares the toilets and wash up area with the High Meadow. Around a 10 minute walk back to the main facilities & drinking water.

Campervans: Nestling at the beginning of the camping birch woods you’ll find five unserviced campervan bays. Suitable for small to medium sized campervans (6m long or less) they enjoy stunning uninterrupted views over the valley.  Please note we don't have electric hook ups or sanitary disposal, pitches aren't suitable for awnings.

Far Away Meadow: Designed to be a wild camping experience, the perfect place to experience lightweight camping (think backpacking style). As the name suggests it's far away from the drop off zone, about 10 minutes up hill, and the main amenities, around 20 minutes. Portaloo's are available at the edge of this meadow.  Not suitable for family camping.

Summer Camping Field: July & Aug weekends only - Large & spacious field, great for family camping, the pitches are marked out 9m squares. Only a 2 - 3 minutes walk from the main facilities, the field has portaloo toilets and cold running water.  Cars are allowed onto this meadow but need to stay outside the roped area to ensure car free space.

Love where you are

We take great care to minimise any impacts on the environment: the lower shower block lighting runs from wind and solar power, while the upper block - the one with a turf roof - is completely off-grid . We are a bit obsessed with reusing and recycling. Please do your bit by seperating out your recyclables (nearly everything!) rather than dumping bags of mixed materials in the general waste bin. Remember - it only becomes waste if we don't seperate and recycle it!

Facilities included: hot showers, toilets, washing up area (x1 Low Meadow, x1 High Meadow); car-parking; fridge-freezer (one only - limited capacity); microwave; drinking water; recycling; fire-bowls/pits
